Young people transitioning from child to adult healthcare services often face significant gaps in care and support. Too old for children’s healthcare but not yet ready for adult systems, it can be an intimidating transition that makes young people feel particularly vulnerable. To address this challenge, digital learning company Desq has partnered with South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Acute Federation and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust in the UK to deliver targeted training for professionals working with young people. Designed for anyone involved in their care—whether directly or indirectly—the programme offers short, interactive modules that provide practical guidance to empower staff to better support young people through this critical transition. Blending clinical expertise with engaging, learner-focused design, the training reflects insights gathered from young people themselves. Fully responsive and accessible across devices, it offers flexible learning for busy professionals across paediatrics, adult services, mental health, and community care—equipping them to provide developmentally appropriate care that ensures every young person feels seen, heard, and supported.
