2015 has been an excellent year for us with increased growth in revenue and the size of our team.
We are very proud of the publication of the IKEA Play Report and look forward to working with the IKEA children’s team once again next year. Our literature review for the Committee of Advertising Practitioners (CAP) on online food and beverage marketing to children was published in February. Also in February, education charity Techknowledge for Schools published the key findings on eSafety produced for Safer Internet Day which included our ‘Stay Safe Online’ poster and interviews with 7,433 pupils aged 7 to 18 in 31 schools. In total Techknowledge for Schools has published 12 of our reports and infographics this year, including the most recent research on ‘Future Skills’ which looks at the character skills needed for future employment which pupils can develop from using technology in school. Soon to be published is a literature review on the use of technology in schools globally and a report that looks at teachers’ attitude towards using mobile devices in their teaching.
August saw the publication of our report on behalf of Youth United and the Cabinet Office. The research was a long-term evaluation looking at the notion of behaviour change in childhood and adolescence through young people’s involvement in community activity. We were delighted to collaborate in a lively and fascinating workshop last week with Youth United and the Youth Policy Team at the Cabinet Office.
These are just some of the published projects we have worked on this year, but of course we have also worked with many other wonderful clients and look forward to working with them again next year. Our brilliant team of dedicated children’s researchers has achieved much and thank you to all who work here at FK&Y, our suppliers and of course our clients. We look forward to another productive year in 2016. As one client has described us:
FK&Y not only brings deep knowledge of child development and age-appropriate communication, they do so in a way that is efficient, good humoured and with real attention to detail. They are extremely patient and have innovative and creative ideas which have challenged us to re-think our strategy with our young audience.
