FK&Y’s Heidi Hasbrouck and Rebecca Atkinson present at ICT 2016

Today Heidi Hasbrouck, Ethnographer at Family Kids & Youth, gave the Keynote Speech and Rebecca Atkinson, FK&Y Associate Director, led a session at the annual ICT conference run by King Edward VI School in Southampton. Around 100 people attended the conference for those involved with strategy, planning and delivery of ICT and the practical use of mobile and cloud technology in schools. Heidi reviewed some of the research work carried out for Techknowledge for Schools in areas such as internet safety, privacy, gaming, device management, use for learning and distraction and explained that in co-creation sessions pupils had created their own charter to remain safe online.

Heidi also looked at The Ikea Play Report in which FK&Y examined a range of areas including the use of mobile devices among families across 12 countries. Rebecca led a session which discussed keeping students safe online, again using much of the research FK&Y has carried out on the subject for Techknowledge for Schools and IKEA.
